There were successfully completed the first official tests of the GEA-BOX plate heater delivered by Wiedemann Polska to Gorodieya sugar factory in Belorus. The heater impresses with both the size and the sufficiency. The delivery of the heat exchanger is a part of the project carried out by Wiedemann Polska and aimed on refurbishment and enlarging this sugar factory.
The working conditions achieved during two tests carried out on Sept. 20th, and Oct. 28th, are presented in the below table.
*the maximum value at the cossettes temperature of c. +3 st. C
The GEA-BOX heater was placed prior to the preliming in order to heat diffusion juice up to the temperature of preliming but only with the waste heat from pan vapours. Results of tests shown in the table confirm that the heat exchange coefficient determined by GEA of K 1600 W/m2K is achievable. Below there is a heater installation sketch.
GEA-BOX DESIGN PARAMETERS
- heat exchange area: 566 M2
- spacing between plates
- in juice: 12 mm
- in vapours: 12 mm
- stainless steel sheet plate thickness: 2 mm
- plate overall size (BxH) ~2,5x3,6m
- the maximum load when filled with water: 42 T |
